Kia Wright
CEO & Founder
Kia Wright from North Amityville, NY. I have a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management from St. John’s University and currently pursuing Master of Science degree in Physical Education at Hofstra University.
The mission of Kwiet Storm is to assist parents, guardians, and educators with producing well rounded youth in local communities. We will offer young people mentoring and educational services as well as providing memorable experiences. Basketball will be used as a teaching tool to promote essential core life values, such as leadership, confidence, teamwork, time management, dealing with adversity, plus many more. We will also promote how to maintain good health and fitness, which are all lifelong benefits.
For over 10 years, I have had the experience of providing more than learning X’s and O’s on the basketball court. I am here to change lives, basketball is just a very handy tool to do so.
I want to allow spaces, where the youth have opportunities to face themselves and to truly understand what growth and development is all about.
I provide outlets for kids to escape their home life, I provide a safe space for kids to just be themselves without the feeling of being judged, I provide a space where kids learn confidence and have the ability to develop lifelong friendships. I will and forever choose to support and provide help to those who aren’t always able to help themselves. My purpose in this lifetime is to do so, I come from a family of social workers and caregivers, so it’s embedded in my DNA to continue to live this way.
